Here's the tutorial you've been waiting for! =D I hope the instructions are clear- I learn SO much better if I can see clear pictures and instructions when I'm making a craft, so I did my best to make this tutorial like that. Enjoy! What you need:
Fabric scrap
Covered Button kit ( I've gotten mine at Walmart. They come in different sizes, but I usually use the big size which is 3/4 " I think)
Scissors
Scissors
Plastic lid or other round object ( small juice glass would work, too)
Fabric glue
washable fabric pen
Rotary Cutter
Ruler
Let's get started!First start by cutting out 3 circles using you round object of choice. I used a plastic lid that was approx. 3 inches across. You will also need to cut out one half moon shape.
Most recently I have been making my flowers with 6 petals, since I've been trying to use up some smaller fabric scraps. I've even made 5 petal flowers. So just choose how many petals you want and cut out circles accordingly.
So now you should have three 3 inch circles and one half moon:
Now iron the 3 circles in half so they look like half moon. Iron wrong sides together:
Now open up your circle and using a rotary cutter, cut down that middle where the crease is:
So now you should have 7 half moons:

Now fold each half moon in half, right sides together, and sew up the straight side:
Don't worry about trimming each one after you sew it. Just sew up each of them right after the other. Now they should look like this:
Now to make your center. Cut out a fabric circle using the pattern on the back of the button kit.

Place you fabric circle, then button, inside of the rubber circle. Then follow the directions on the back of kit to add the back of the button.
It should look like this:

Now to assemble the flowers. Cut your "petals" apart ( if you sewed them in one long line). By hand, stitch a loose running stitch through the open edge of the flower near the button ( but not so low that they don't hold):

Connect all of the "petals" using a loose running stitch, then pull to tighten. Then sew the end petals together securely:
